ABOUT ME:
I (Jason T. Broadfoot) am a Stand-Up Comic, Writer, and Actor who lives in Vancouver with my fantastic wife Maryth and our wonderful cats. My company "tReAd ThE eDgE PrOdUcTiOnS" has produced stage plays across Western Canada for the past 17 years. I am also one of theProducers of "Final Draught Script Reading Series" - a Vancouver organization dedicated to promoting & showcasing new Plays, Screenplays, TV Scripts and more - while providing Actors with an opportunity to cold read new scripts.
A Manitoba boy who grew up in the small town of Boissevain. I Graduated from the Theatre Department at the University of Manitoba and have spent the past 19 years working in the Arts - in various forms - across Western Canada. I have penned six stage plays and have acted in many different productions ranging from classical to contemporary & drama to comedy.
My life lead me to "tReAd ThE eDgE" of the question of where I wanted to go with my writing & performing...and then life gave me a firm shove, pushing me over the cliff of no return & directly into Stand-Up Comedy. In 2007 I stepped on stage as a Stand-Up Comic and was immediately hooked..."You gotta love making people laugh"...there was no looking back.
In the past couple of years I have performed at venues including: The Laughing Bean, The Fresh Bean, Final Draught, The Kingston Hotel, The Press Box Media Lounge, Jupiter Lounge, Darby's Pub, Talent Time, The Sin Bin, The Cobalt, Winnipeg/Edmonton/Vancouver Fringe Festivals, The Edmonton Fringe LateNight Cabaret & Lafflines Comedy Club.
I won 2nd place in the 2008 Funniest Comic in Vancouver with a Day Job Contest & advanced to the Semi-Finals of THE 2009 PEOPLE'S CHAMP $1000 COMEDY COMPETITION (presented by The Legion of Stand-Up Comedians).
In 2009 I took the show on the road - touring my 50 minute Stand-Up show "Jason T. Broadfoot ~A Stand-Up Guy~" to Winnipeg, Edmonton & Vancouver Fringe Festivals.
